Good communication is vital to support:
- strong partnerships and relationships between home and school
- the wellbeing of children and their families

Parents and carers can expect to receive communication once per week from their child’s class teacher. This will take the form of a text, phone call or email depending on which method suits you best. This will be an update of what your child has been doing in class, what they are doing well with and any areas in which they are struggling with work or behaviour.

Children have a daily communication diary. This is a laminated document with visuals. The child circles what they have done during the day and how they have felt (with support where necessary). There may also be a written note on it from the teacher too. Parents are encouraged to write their own messages on it and send back to school each day. It acts a communication prompt for children as well as giving information.
For all classes
- If there is a serious behaviour incident during the day the teacher, PSO or a member of management will phone you to let you know.
- If your child is hurt or injured at school, you will receive a phone call about it and a first aid form home in their bag.
- Each term you will receive a ‘Learning Leaflet’ this will have information about your child’s classes learning activities so far and learning ideas for home.
- At the end of the school year in June, you will receive a school report. This tells you all about your child’s academic progress.
- We also hold two school events during the year to which you are warmly invited. The Christmas Fair is held in December and the Summer Fair in June.
- There is also an Open Morning when you are invited in to see your child in school and to learn about what they have been doing.
- A CPM will be held annually for P1 to P5 and twice a year for P6 and P7.
