February Roundup

Our year continues to be a busy one here a Rowanfield with lots of things going on.

We have started our Film Projects with Screen Ed.  the Juniors and Seniors are learning how to plan, direct, shoot and edit a movie.  Look out for more exciting news soon!

It’s been all about healthy exercise in the Seniors.  They have started swimming lessons once a week, they continue to work with Spartans Football on Fridays and are now learning Parkour.   Instructors from Access Parkour have been working with the team to develop their Free Running skills.

The Juniors have been focussed on the written word over the past month.  They have studied poetry, made films inspired by poems and books and reviewed what they have read.  They are now working on traditional tales.  They have built houses for Little Pifs, rafts for Billy Goats Gruff and created some fearsome trolls from clay.  They recently visited the Yard where they showed some fantastic cycling skills.

As part of our Rowanfield Outdoor Education Programme everyone has visited the Water of Leith Conservation Trust with Mrs Barr.  They have created shelters, taken part in a treasure trail and even built fires.

Next month we will be celebrating Red Nose Day and some children will be going on a Hopscotch adventure.
